About

I was born in Warrington, but grew up in North Wales. I first studied art Art & Design on the Art Foundation course at Coleg Menai, Bangor, then went on to study illustration at Brighton. This experience was simply a revelation, where passionate artists first, and dedicated lecturers second, infused the students with their creative experience and wisdom and I will be forever grateful for all those tutorials, life drawing classes, critiques and the sharing of new ideas. Invaluable!

I have been very lucky to have received recognition for my work and also collaborate with a broad range of clients from my studio based in the North West of England, encompassing editorial, design, advertising and publishing commissions. I have also worked as a part time lecturer on the illustration degree courses at UCLAN and Coleg Menai.

Outside of the studio, there are many things in this world that make me smile - my wife and three children, music & records, cacti, giant bugs, tin toys, vinyl toys, mid-century design, cinema, Godzilla, Universal monsters, cycling, running, chocolate and coffee, lots of coffee.

Client Feedback

“Kevin's illustrations are beautiful. I love his use of colour, and the original way he interprets a brief, plus he is a pleasure to work with. Top qualities: Great Results, On Time, Creative”. Stephanie Fenner: Art Editor & Freelance Designer at Stephanie Fenner Design

"Kevin is a pleasure to work with. Thoroughly professional and incredibly creative with a marvelous sense of design and colour.” Dinah Lone, Art Director Print Group Haymarket Business Media

"I have always loved the jacket-illustrations done by Kevin Hauff for eleven of my novels. Their combination of stylishness and sexuality is immediately arresting and, by adding a touch of the surreal, he suggests an undertow of menace and intrigue, perfectly in keeping with the books". Wendy Perriam: Author

"Imagination, that one word sums up Kevin Hauff's paintings. Hauff is a visual entertainer, his assertive images blast onto the canvas, exploding with colour and excitement. Some of these paintings are very large. All of the images have been conjured up in his mind and then transferred to canvas in the traditional method of acrylic on canvas, the fast drying medium essential for this fertile imagination. Startlingly graphic, detailed and beautifully coloured, Hauff's paintings are in a class of their own". Artbank Gallery
